Summary:
Today, only
a small scope of news published in TV by public service is adjusted for people
with hearing impairments. Only one, ten minute long, newscast in sign language
is broadcasted per day compared to over 14 newscasts without support for
hearing impairments. The news broadcasts for the hearing impaired are also very
limited in terms of content, for example there are no regional newscasts in
sign language.
We will aim to make all news broadcasted by public service as accessible and useful for deaf people as for others. With new technology, we believe we can adjust all newscasts so that everyone, including people with hearing impairments, can experience news in the best possible way.
