Future of Ads - weekly report

As you'll read below we been working so hard last week that we actually forgot to post an update last Friday - sorry and here's our latest development:

What we have done

After the mid-term critic we felt confident enough to move forward with our idea so we've now split the group into two small subgroups working in parallel with our book chapter and the final presentation.

For the visualization of our idea we wanna do a movie so we made a story board, planned all the required equipment, scouted locations and engaged extra talent in form of a camera man and two actors. The actual shoot will take place next weekend so we're really looking forward to it!

For the book chapter we've continued our research about the possibilities of measuring and predicting a user’s emotional state and trying to find technologies which can be used to perform these measurements as well as how they can be used to in order to tailor ads, achieve serendipity and create an augmented reality experience.

We've also visited 13th Lab, a small startup that operate within the field of augmented reality. Together we discussed different trends for the future and whether or not they shared our vision of the future. Luckily for us they more or less did, which we take as confirmation that the research we've done is in fact relevant.

During the discussion it was mentioned that the prospects we're presenting can be perceived as if they infringe on people's privacy. To better understand what people think about this subject we've done some research on the matter and based on that started to prepare a survey about privacy and sharing through the internet.

What we will do

Like we've already mentioned next week we'll focus on filming for our presentation. We also plan to make the final adjustments of the book chapter, start to carry out the survey and create a structure for the final presentation.

Furthermore we'll go on our second study visit to the organization INCF, which is an international non-profit organization devoted to advancing the field of neuroinformatics. We are meeting with their acting executive director to discuss trends within neuroscience research and to get a second opinion on our assumptions about future possibilities within neuroscience.
